Inpagepush.com is a deceptive website that relies on underhanded tactics to trick visitors into subscribing to its push notification services. This is a popular tactic; on the Internet, a myriad of sites virtually identical to Inpagepush.com in behavior and function have already been flooding the Web. The crux of the scheme consists of showing misleading alerts or warning messages that all urge the user into clicking the 'Allow' button under some pretense. Doing so grants the hoax website with numerous browser privileges that it will then exploit to deliver intrusive advertisements on the device.
One of the fake scenarios employed by Inpagepush.com is to show a buffer indicator for a video that cannot be played currently. Prominently displayed will be a variation of the following message:
'Click Allow to continue'
The implication is that by clicking 'Allow,' users will gain access to the full video. However, this is not exactly true and the user will soon feel the effects of the advertising campaign conducted by Inpagepush.com.
It is important to remember that the advertisements delivered by the site should be regarded as equally untrustworthy. By showing clickbait messages, they could try to lure the user into clicking on them. Afterward, via forced redirects, users could find themselves landing on phishing pages, 'get-rich-quick' tactics, domains advertising PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) and more.
To stop Inpagepush.com's activities on the system manually, users may try to revoke the permissions granted to the site through the 'Notifications' or 'Permissions' menu (depending on the specific browser), usually found under 'Settings.'
